Entering the new season full throttle

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice day, let's go!

Due to Corona: Extremenduro Alestrem & Roof of Africa cancelled

By this point of the year, no one's surprised about the cancellation of events due to Corona anymore. Despite of that, the organizers of the French extreme enduro event Alestrem have been hoping to be able to host their race as planned until the last minute - unfortunately however, as they have recently announced, that didn't help. Similarly, the organizers of the Roof of Africa race just had to cancel their event too.

AMA: Grant Baylor goes for gold

The enduro season's slowly coming to an end all over the world, which is why the new US champion has also just been crowned: Grant Baylor, the younger one of the Baylor-Brothers and Sherco factory rider, was just able to secure himself the renowned title for the first time in Texas. At the same time, this was Sherco's first AMA title as well. His brother Steward Baylor was more than succesful as well: after switching to Yamaha, he was able to secure himself the second place and end the GNCC-season in fourth position. Congratulations for these good runs!

Adventure: Croatia, the sunny winter escape

Slowly but surely, it is feeling more like fall every day - time to put your motorbike away for hibernation if it hasn't been sitting in the garage for weeks already. Right?

Not necessarily - join us on one of our winter escapes in the south and explore sunny destinations such as Croatia with us on your enduro or travel enduro bike while prolonging your motorbiking season - in small groups or as a private trip.

For more information, head to our website. We are looking forward to riding with you!

Enduro GP: We have a 2020 winner

Following two action-packed weekends in Portugal where the world's best enduro riders challenged each other, it was the last special test of the season that could finally reveal this year's enduro world champion. After Brad Freeman lead the race for the longest time, Steve Holcombe was finally able to earn back his title by the end of the run. Freeman ended up in second place, Andrea Verona got third. Incredible riding from all participants!

Hard Enduro: Red Bull Romaniacs 2021 will take place in July

This year, almost nothing went as planned - not even the Red Bull Romaniacs. After their early rescheduling from July to October, further restrictions such as the prohibition of spectators have been put into place and in a way made the race extra special. Now, the organizers have announced the upcoming race's date already - and it will again take place in July. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that the 18th edition of the race, the "Vertical Madness Reloaded", will be able to take place from 27th to 31st of July!

We hope that you're enjoying your day by riding your bike and keeping your distance. Golden fall in the enduro scene

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice day, let's go!

Enduro DM: Despite Corona, 5 of 6 runs are done

After only one of the total of six races of the DEM this year are still waiting for the riders and us, it is time to get a current overview of the racing series. Looking at the championship podium, it quickly becomes apparent that the results between the individual events so far have hardly varied at all, which is why the ranking so far is as follows: Sherco rider Hamish Macdonald is still leading, followed by Dennis Schröter and Davide von Zitzewitz in third place. In order to continue to put their skills to the test, one more run is now waiting for the riders, which will hopefully still be possible under the strict corona conditions: the grand finale in Rüdersdorf.

Golden fall: Here you can still use the last sunny days

While it is already getting colder again, this doesn't mean that the motorcycle season has to end soon – instead, we spent the last weeks designing completely new enduro and travel enduro adventures for you in Croatia! Istria and its offshore islands will surprise you with many exciting routes with a very large off-road portion and are definitely not only great places for a beach vacation - even though our unique combination of extensive motorcycle tours and an additional jet ski safari will bring you lots of fun, especially in high summer! Experience your tailor-made off-road adventure in the breathtaking scenery this fall. In small groups you will ride on gravel roads, through forests and riverbeds as well as on single trails - you can book our travel enduro tours directly here, for our enduro offers click here.

We are looking forward to riding with you!

Electric rides: Zero Motorcycles is now a Polaris partner

As recently announced, Polaris, the world leader in competitive sports, and Zero Motorcycles, a leader in electric motorcycles and power trains, are already working on new electric vehicles, the first of which is expected to be publicly available by the end of 2021. Overall, the cooperation agreement is valid for at least ten years and aims to position Polaris as the market leader in the field of electrification of motor sports - we are curious to see how the project and thus also the market for electrically powered vehicles will develop!

HESG: Happy season opening

After the early announcement of the season shift of this year's HESG into the winter, the first riders started in Schwepnitz two weeks ago to open the race series almost one year after last year's final. For the first time, Tim Apolle was able to win one of the races of the HESG, with Milan Schmüser taking second place. The third place went to Kevin Gallas after a difficult start, which also affected the rest of the race. Unfortunate news have reached us from the MC Isolator, the organizer of the Tenneco Extreme Enduro Neuhaus-Schierschnitz, which should have taken place already, however - due to the increasing number of infections as well as the associated new regulations in the district of Sonneberg, the competition will be postponed again.

Red Bull Erzbergrodeo: Registration for 2021 is now open

The race over the iron mountain has been one of the most important dates of the year for a long time now and definitely is a race which we would not like to miss in the enduro scene - unfortunately however, we had to do so last year due to the current pandemic. Now, however, the sails are already strongly set towards 2021, which is why the registration for the race planned for June 3-6, 2021 has already been opened in the past week. As in previous years, the Erzbergrodeo will again be part of the WESS overall ranking, which means that we can already look forward to an exciting competition among the best riders in the world.

We hope that you're enjoying your day by riding your bike and keeping your distance. See you again soon! If you want to stay up to date at all times, subscribe to our newsletter by entering your e-mail address in the bottom right-hand corner of this page and clicking on "Sign up" so that we can send you the most interesting information every two weeks.

EnduroGP, Sea to Sky & more

this week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice Sunday, let's go!

Change of plan: New dates for the AMA EnduroCross and the EnduroGP

As recently announced, the organizers of the AMA EnduroCross Championship have decided to postpone the first four rounds of this year's race series both in time and space, while the last two rounds will continue to be held in Nampa, Idaho. At the same time, the organizers of the EnduroGP were looking further ahead and recently announced the provisional race dates for 2021, with the season not starting until June. As always, you can find all the details about the new events in our event calendar.

Romania: Red Bull Romaniacs coming at you in a double pack in October

Despite the current events and the final cancellation of this year's WESS, the traditional Hard Enduro race Red Bull Romaniacs will take place as planned, even though the date had to be changed from July to October. Nevertheless, due to the hygiene regulations the legendary event will have to take place without spectators this year - reason enough to take the chance and spend the last summer days on the enduro on the exciting trails of the Romaniacs yourself! Secure your spot on one of our enduro tours now and discover the region around Sibiu in the golden fall- without any small group surcharge and from one person onwards!

2021 models: KTM and Beta present new enduros

After the race series itself was already cancelled, the organizers of WESS did not miss the opportunity to launch a limited edition of the 2021 KTM 350 EXC-F in WESS design. It features many racing components, ensuring that the machine will always be "ready to race" even during the hardest enduro tours. The WP XACT fork is an exclusive feature of this machine compared to its competitors, which promises great weight savings and optimal handling under all conditions. The model can be purchased from this month on at authorized KTM dealers. However, the Austrians competition is not yet hibernating either, as Beta recently announced their new enduro models as well, which according to the manufacturer are "in better shape than ever before" and therefore also hold great promise. The red bikes were developed and tested mainly by Steve Holcombe and Bradley Freeman, who secured themselves the factory team's greatest successes in 2019. We are looking forward to seeing how the models will prove themselves in practice!

Results: Old hands win the EnduroGP and the hard enduro event Sea to Sky

After the first two rounds of this year's EnduroGP it is already clear that the red success was no coincidence: again this year, the British riders Holcombe and Freeman secured themselves the first two places over the first two rounds, putting them ahead of Loic Larrieu, who is currently in third place, with 77 and 71 points respectively. But not only in EnduroGP two old hands are leading, also in Sea to Sky Enduro an old acquaintance could secure the victory for himself: the legendary Graham Jarvis. We congratulate the three of them for their good performances and remain curious what else the season has to offer!

KTM: Daniel Sanders supports the KTM rally team

After Daniel Sanders was already able to assert himself in the EnduroGP as a KTM factory rider, he will now support the rally team of the Austrian manufacturer. His first race on his new KTM 450 Rally will be the Andalucia Rally in Spain. He has already gained experiences in this field at the Hattah Desert Race and others, where he even snatched the victory from his new team mate Toby Price in 2018.

Abu Dhabi: Desert Challenge 2020 postponed

The Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge will not take place this year as planned, as the current developments in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic do not allow for a safe event execution according to the organizers. Nevertheless, the organizers do not want to cancel the event completely yet but are still hoping to be able to let the race take place at a later time in this year. If you too would like to explore vast deserts with the enduro, you should read our upcoming newsletters with special attention - maybe we’re already working on the perfect offer for you, which will soon be available on our website as well.

As you can see, the situation is gradually improving despite Corona and the organizers are getting better at handling the situation. We hope that our newsletter was an interesting read for you once again. Double fun in Portugal, enduro riding in Romania & more

this week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading it and have a nice Sunday, let's go!

WESS: In 2020, there will be no winner

After some races of the WESS have already been cancelled in the past months and the Hawkstone Park Cross-Country Race in Great Britain has now also been removed from the calendar due to the difficult entry regulations, the WESS Promotion GmbH recently announced that the series will no longer take place as such this year, as under the current conditions, no fair competition is possible. At the same time this does not mean that events like the Hawkstone Park Cross-Country or the Red Bull Romaniacs, that are still planned, will not take place - instead, they will be held as planned and only the overall ranking of the race series over the course of the season will be missing. To further support the organizers of the outstanding events, the KTM, Husqvarna and GASGAS factory teams have already agreed to make their riders participate in the events if possible as well.

Romania: No more enduro riding in paradise?

Those who have spent some time on social media over the last few days will have noticed it already: over the course of a change in the Romanian forestry law, the regulations for enduro riding were tightened, meaning that free riding is now hardly possible there - or isn't it? The answer is twofold. While it is true that it is no longer allowed to ride through the forests on your own, this does not mean that it is no longer possible to ride there legally - the key to happiness is a local tour operator with a license like us, allowing us to still offer all of our tours to you as usual!

Secure your spot on one of our tours through Romania quickly and continue to enjoy the challenging routes of the Red Bull Romaniacs now - we are looking forward to riding with you.

German enduro championship: Starting signal for the German championship in Rehna

With yesterday's starting signal, the time has finally come: this year's international German championship could start despite Corona! It was especially exciting for the six-time German champion Dennis Schröter, who is riding his last season this year - reason enough to be especially eager for another title. Nevertheless, his competitors such as Davide von Zitzewitz, who had already been strong in previous years, and New Zealand's Hamish Macdonald, last year's World Champion in the Youth class, also had high hopes for the weekend. In the end, the podium of the C group looked as follows:
  1. Hamish Macdonalds
  2. Davide von Zitzewitz
  3. Dennis Schröter
Congratulations to all winners for their good performances!

HESG: News from Reetz

For the HESG, the run in Reetz will be the next event that can be held despite of the current restrictions. At the same time, the organizers will be introducing a new race mode as well: the classic prologue will be followed by a sprint enduro, which will be a special challenge for the riders thanks to the usual obstacles with an extreme test, leading them through a sand pit for a longer period of time. Therefore, a total of at least four hours of riding time are planned for the race, during which the 150 riders will have an exciting race – we’re curious to see who can finally take the victory!

Serbia: Xross Challenge trail adventure

The biggest and toughest hard enduro race in the Balkans - that's how the organizers of the Xross Challenge describe their event, which has already presented pro riders like Wade Young or Kevin Gallas with some challenges in the past. If you are interested in taking up the challenge yourself and exploring the exciting trails of the Xross Challenge around Mount Tara but participating in a race is not for you, we have the perfect offer for you: together with the experienced organizers of the race, we have put together two different enduro tours that will introduce you to the beauty and culture of the country, the good food, the varied trails and the warm-hearted inhabitants of Serbia! And the best: despite Corona, Serbia is currently one of the few countries that we have been allowed to travel to without any quarantine obligations or the like for quite some time now - so what are you waiting for? Secure your place here.

Enduro world championship: Double the pleasure in Portugal

The cancellation of the Enduro GP in Spain was followed by a creative solution that probably nobody would have expected: without further ado a new date for the race was found, which will take place as planned from November 6th - 8th - but in a different country! Thanks to the transfer of the event from Spain to its neighboring country Portugal, the riders will have to travel less and will be able to stay in Portugal, as Marco de Canaveses will host the final of the World Championship just a weekend later. Hats off for this clever solution!

As you can see, the situation is gradually improving despite Corona and the organizers are getting better at handling the situation. News from the IGE, DEM, HESG & more

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments from the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading it, let's go!

IGE: No racing series in 2020

After the events in Mernes at the end of August and in Feldatal in mid-September had to be cancelled due to the still strict corona-related regulations, the IGE directors board recently decided that the IGE Championship 2020 will be cancelled completely. All registration fees that have already been paid will be transferred to the next year, unless an appeal is filed, and the entry fees will be refunded automatically. However, there is still one last reason to remain hopeful: at the moment, the organizators are still examining whether it is possible to turn the race weekends, which were still in the planning stage, into training weekends. We remain curious and of course, we’ll keep you updated!

DEM: Our hope lays in Rehna

Despite of the still tense situation, we have received some positive news from Rehna at least: according to the current state of affairs, the responsible authorities support the realization of the opening event of the DEM on September 12th, which is organized by the MC Rehna e.V. Meanwhile, things don’t look as good in Tucheim, where the MC Fiener Tucheim e.V. recently decided to move its event "Rund um den Fiener" to 10.10. Wait, 10.10. - wasn’t another race scheduled for that day as well? Right, the new date in October falls exactly on the day when the DEM run would have taken place in Streitberg, which had to be cancelled due to corona reasons. Another event in Kempenich is still on the agenda as a replacement run, where an upgrade to the DEM run is currently being discussed – however, no final decision has been made yet.

Sri Lanka: New travel adventures for you

Even though not too many travel options are currently available, we have still been very busy and are happy to present five new trips to you this month! The first one is our new travel enduro tour in Sri Lanka, during which you will be able to see the most beautiful areas of the country, taste some of the best dishes of the local cuisine and drive some of the most exciting routes over a period of ten days. Sounds good? Then secure yourself one of the limited places quickly and be one of the first to enjoy this Asian country with us!

Utery: Class win for Hübner in the Czech Republic

While one event cancellation still chases the other here in Germany, things look quite different abroad. Among others, this was the case in the Czech Republic at the Enduro Sprint in Utery, where KTM rider Eddi Hübner did not achieve an overall victory, but at least the victory in the E2 class. The overall winner was French Sherco rider Jeremy Tarroux. We say congratulations and are looking forward to the next race on 29th and 30th August in Mseno!

European Enduro Championship: First dates for 2021

While some are still trying to find replacement dates for 2020, the European Enduro Championship is already making plans for the coming season. As was recently announced, this will be done largely in conjunction with the events that would have been included this year already. A new addition, however, is the final station in October, which will take place in Hellendoorn in the Netherlands. These are the provisional dates and venues, which you can find in our event calendar as well: - 17th – 18th April, 2021: Castel di Tora, Italy - 26th – 27th June, 2021: Kielce, Poland - 07th – 08th August 2021: Plasy, Czech Republic - 01st – 03rd October, 2021: Hellendoorn, Netherlands

FMX: Luc Ackermann sets new backflip world record

After 12 years, the 22-year-old freestyle motocross rider Luc Ackermann managed to break a very special world record that his idol Travis Pastrana previously set: 8 backflips in 30 seconds. Ackermann spent three weeks in training until he dared to do it. His goal: to increase the record set by Pastrana by 2 somersaults to a total of 10. "I am super happy to have made it. Travis' record has been buzzing around in my head for a few years now. Now I had the time to train for it and it paid off. It worked out on the first try. Thanks to everyone who supported me," said Luc Ackermann after his successful world record attempt in Sperenberg. The fact that he managed to do this a good second faster than it would have been necessary is a bonus. Strong performance!

August: Which trips are still allowed?

We have asked ourselves this question as well and have come to the pleasing conclusion that there are still a few possibilities in the enduro and travel enduro sector:

We'll keep you up to date about further possibilities on our Instagram and Facebook account, where you should also follow us!

HESG: Extreme cancellation for Meltewitz

Despite the relaxation of some of the corona-related regulations in Saxony, the SHC Meltewitz recently announced that it no longer intends to hold any events this year - resulting not only in the end of the MelzExdrähm this year, but also the HESG run planned for September, which could probably have taken place according to Denis Günther. Alternatively, a new run in Hamma will be added to the HESG calendar in mid-March, which will be held by MSC Hamma. An exact date has not yet been announced, however it was finally possible to find a date for the “Hardenduro im Reisersberger Hexenkessel” event, which is planned for July and will now take place on 17.04.2021 in Reisersberg.

Even though the news of the last weeks still had a predominantly negative connotation due to corona, we still hope that our article included some interesting information for you. If you want to stay up to date at all times, subscribe to our newsletter by entering your e-mail address in the bottom right-hand corner of this page and clicking on "Sign up" so that we can send you the most interesting information every two weeks.
