Walker's recommendation: always skip arm day

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice day, let's go!

DOSB: Motorsport is an individual sport

The enduro season is still on ice, and unfortunately this is not only due to the winter weather. As has been recently announced however, there is hope for improvement: as a sports umbrella organization in Germany, the German Olympic Sports Confederation supports motorsports from now on by classifying it as an individual sport, both in the competitive and in the popular sports sector. As this reduces the Corona-relevant aerosol exposure to low or even non-existent in combination with the mandatory protective clothing as well as the outdoor nature of the events, this could greatly increase the likelihood of many events being held despite of the ongoing restrictions.

Verona: Red instead of orange

As Andrea Verona had already signed his 2021 contract with the Italian KTM team, it was already clear for whom E1 World Champion Andrea Verona would ride. As it now turned out, however, there was a short-term internal change - instead of for KTM, the 21-year-old will ride for the GasGas factory team this season. Verona commented on this as follows: "It's an incredible feeling to be a part of the GASGAS Factory Racing Team. To be selected as a rider to lead the team in the EnduroGP is a really good feeling and it makes me very proud."

Training: Jonny Walker recommends having skinny noodle arms

In the days of home offices, closed gyms, lockdowns and cold winter weather, it's not easy to stay fit - even though the new season is almost upon us. Still, if you want to prepare for upcoming motorcycle tours and enduro trips, you might be well advised to check out the fitness tips from hard enduro legend Jonny Walker. His recommendations include lots of squats, endurance cardio sessions and - who would have thought it - definitely no arm training! Most importantly, though, he thinks it's important to actually spend his workouts doing what he trains for.

If you too want to improve your enduro skills, listen to the pro and reserve your spot at one of our training offers in Bavaria or in Rhineland-Palatinate now.

Events: FIM Hard Enduro World Championship confirms dates

After a long wait, they're finally here: the official dates of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, formerly known as World Enduro Super Series, have been announced. And that's what the schedule looks like:

Enduro world championship & the season of 2021

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice day, let's go!

German enduro championship: Sprint start in July

After it has just been announced that this year's DEM season will not be off to a regular start, we now know more about how it could start – as of now, the first race will be an enduro sprint hosted on the last weekend of July! The race in Saxony is supposed to replace the cancelled race "Rund um Dahlen", however no organizer has been determined for the new race yet. We remain curious and keep our fingers crossed that there will be no further delays!

Events: Trèfle Lozérien opens the first registration phase

France is looking ahead as well: the first registration phase for this year's edition of the legendary Trèfle Lozérien, which will take place from June 04 to 06, 2021, just opened. Conquering the trails of the Sixdays, more than 600 participants are expected to compete in the various performance classes.

Fittingly, KTM and Husqvarna have also recently announced that the application phase for their motorsport sponsorship is running again. So, if you would also like to step into some more professional footsteps and compete against the best riders, you have the opportunity to be supported with parts and even new vehicles. We wish you good luck with your application!

Trainings: Practice makes perfect

Home office, closed gyms, cold winter weather and hardly any travel opportunities - a combination that makes it particularly difficult for all of us to counteract the annual decline in fitness over the winter months. Nevertheless, all hope is not lost - how about, for example, one of our enduro or travel enduro trainings to prepare you optimally for the upcoming season or the next big trip? Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced rider, we surely offer something for everyone – soon, we’ll even add an additional location, which you can then discover on our website.

You can find all trainings here: Viaduro Enduro Training – From Beginners to Advanced

Enduro world championship: Two comebacks and more

Although last season was comparatively unspectacular, news are now piling up around the upcoming season of the enduro world championship. First, KTM announced that they will officially return to the enduro world championship this year - after a whole three years of abstinence! All hope lies entirely with 2017 Enduro2 World Champion Josep Garcia, who already showed that winning is still in his blood last year.

But it's not just KTM that's newly on board in 2021, we can also expect a few more special guests: more enduro ladies! After the women’s class of enduro racing has been treated rather poorly in recent years, this year there will be no less than three GP rounds where female riders can compete with each other, which will not only upgrade the championship but also make it fairer.

In addition to the ladies, another class will also benefit from this year’s innovations: for the first time, the traditional FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy will be held as a separate competition. Until now, this ran parallel to the Sixdays and therefore always put the trophy competitors in the Sixdays rider’s shadows, which will hopefully change now. We remain curious to see how the changes will affect the upcoming season!

Jarvis: Off to another year in the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna-jersey

As recently announced, Jarvis will not be retiring from racing anytime soon – instead, he will remain loyal to the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team for another year. At the same time, he's teaming up with Husqvarna Motorcycles to support his newly formed Jarvis Husqvarna Racing Team, which will feature no fewer than five up-and-coming riders on the sporty Husqvarna TE 300is.

Enduro: Let the tour planning begin!

With the new year, we’re keen on going on our next tours and exploring the world – after all, spring will be here soon, meaning that the perfect time to start exploring new areas on the enduro is just around the corner as well. Whether you’d like to go to Romania, Serbia, Bosnia or Costa Rica - varied trails for every level of performance can be found almost anywhere in the world. Take advantage of the cold days and start thinking about where you want to go this summer - should Corona still throw us a spanner in the works, we will of course be happy to help you find an alternative free of charge and without any extra hassle.

Your overview of 2021 & more

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice day, let's go!

Rallye Dakar: Half time

Last Saturday, the riders of the currently happening Rallye Dakar arrived at Ha'il, meaning that we reached half time and that they were able to take a day off. Despite being half through the race already, as of now, there's no clear leader yet: between the top 15 riders, there are only 35 minutes of time differences and between the top 8, the time differences are even down to 10 minutes. The reason for this can be described by the jo-jo effect, as Brabec calls it: the one who's leading one day needs to go first the next day, making it harder for him to navigate through the desert. We're curious to see who will be able to secure this year's victory for him- or herself!

Hardenduro: Jonny Walker now riding in red

After we've already reported about the split between Jonny Walker and KTM, we are now happy to announce what Jonny Walker's future will look like: from 2021 onwards, the talented hard enduro rider Jonny Walker will be part of the Betamotor team! After he was able to defend his repuation as one of the best hard enduro riders over the past years, we are curious to see which results he'll get on his new Beta RR300 - given that corona allows us to resume to an (almost) regular racing schedule of course.

Portugal: Corona-compliant winter escapes in the sunny south

Since a few weeks we are happy to welcome you in Portugal as well - for some exciting tours around the area of Santarém or for a training on tour that will challenge enduro beginners as well as true pros! And the best thing about it: currently, Portugal is one of the few countries which you can travel to without any restrictions - if you're traveling from and to Germany at least. So, what are you waiting for? Sign up right here and book your next trip now.

Hardenduro: Cooperation between WESS and FIM

Year after year, the WESS presents us with something new - this year, this lead to a renaming of their series to "FIM Hard Enduro World Championship" and meant that from now on, the racing series will be unter control of the FIM. With that, new regulations for the pro class have been introduced to adhere to the international FIM standards, enabling the participants to now fight for the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship title worldwide. Despite of that, according to the organizers, the basic WESS idea of actively including amateur riders shall still remain a key part of the racing series.

As usual, you can find all dates of the new FIM Hard Enduro World Championship in our event calendar.

Training: Prepare for the upcoming season now

With the end of one season another one starts - which is why now is the perfect time to get back in shape and work on your own riding technique to have even more fun on your next enduro or travel enduro tour! No matter if you are a beginner or an advanced rider, if you are riding enduro or travel enduro, if you are in Bavaria or in Rhineland-Palatinate - secure your spot before everything is fully booked and get ready for summer now.

Cancellation: The beach race Enduropale du Touquet won't take place this year

The legendary Enduropale du Touquet traditionally is one of the first races of the year and should have taken place in two weeks already - as has been recently announced however, just like many others this race now also had to be cancelled due to the recent developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. What a start into the new season!

Supercross riding at home & more

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice day, let's go!

2021: More new models presented

As always, the new year brings us new models. In this regard, one of the biggest novelties especially for enduro trail riders might be coming from Honda, and no, we're not talking about the euro-5 modified 2021 CRF 250 L and Rally, but their new big brothers: from now on, both models will also be available with 300 cc in Europe. In addition to the more powerful engine, the suspension travel has been increased, frame weight has been saved and the tank of the Rally has been expanded from 10.1 to 12.8 l, giving it a theoretical range of just over 400 km.

Somewhat sportier but also unfortunately not too light is the new Fantic enduro, who recently introduced their XEF 250, which is based on the Yamaha WR250F and YZ250F. How the new enduro proves itself in practice, however, we will be able to see in a few months at the earliest: unfortunately, it is not yet certain when the Fantic XEF 250 2021 will be available in Germany.

Home Office: Now also for the riders of the ADAC Supercross

For years, the ADAC Supercross in Dortmund has been one of the most spectacular events, especially for the spectators, but this January it will have to be cancelled. Right? Not quite - the organizers didn't let themselves be deprived of their race quite that easily, which is why instead they'll be bringing the entertainment to their fans' living rooms via livestream. In addition to clips from previous years, exquisite guests from past races will also be on hand to tell us some exciting stories. The livestream can be seen on January 16, 2021 from 7 p.m. on the YouTube channel "ADAC Supercross Dortmund" or on Facebook via "ADAC Supercross Dortmund". An additional highlight will also be the switch to the USA, where the AMA Supercross Championship Series starts that night. As usual, you can find their now complete racing schedule in our event calendar.

Attention: Bye bye Euro-4, hi Euro-5

With the new year, especially after 2020, many hope that everything will become better. In one area, however, we have to take this hope away from you already: the Euro 4 standard, which was valid until now, is expiring; so from 01.01.2021 all new vehicle registrations have to comply with the Euro 5 standard. What generally is a challenge for the manufacturers only can now also become one for you: if you still have a sweetheart at home that has not been registered yet, now is the last chance to do so - in the new year, this will unfortunately no longer be possible.

Saudi Arabia: News from the Rallye Dakar participants

Over the course of the last three years, the luck was not really on Adrien van Beveren's side, keeping him from reaching the finish line of the Rallye Dakar three years in a row. With regards to the upcoming edition, however, he seems to have better luck: just recently he recorded a magnificent victory in the preparatory race Hail Baja 1, a "great training for the Dakar", as he called it. But van Beveren doesn't seem to be the only one who's positive about the rally that will be taking place in January: the Hero Motorsports Team is also looking forward to returning to the Rallye Dakar after they left the race early last year in response to the tragic death of Paulo Goncalves.

Events: Results of the Red Bull Override 2020 & Revival of the Getzenrodeo

As part of the North American Hardenduro Championship, the second edition of the Red Bull Override took place just recently, which without question demanded a lot from the riders with more than six hours of riding in the lowest temperatures, a frozen ground and a night ride. Additionally, over the course of the race, more and more override sections were opened up, enabling the riders to shorten the actual course - if they were able to master the extremely technical sections at all. In the end, Sherco rider Mario Roman won, followed by his team-mate Cody Webb. The third place went to KTM rider Trystan Hart - congratulations!

But, we also have some interesting news on the German side for you: as recently announced, the Getzenrodeo will again be part of the WESS next year, putting the riders to the test with its challenging sections. We are looking forward to an exciting race!

Training: Prepare for the upcoming season now

After the season is before the season - which is why now is the perfect time to get back in shape and work on your own riding technique to have even more fun on your next enduro or travel enduro tour! No matter if you are a beginner or an advanced rider, if you are riding enduro or travel enduro, if you are in Bavaria or in Rhineland-Palatinate - secure your spot before everything is fully booked and get ready for summer now.

First 2021 plans

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments in the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading them and have a nice day, let's go!

Rallye Dakar: 7,640 challenging kilometers are waiting for the participants

As recently announced, the 43rd edition of the Rallye Dakar, which will again be held in Saudi Arabia, will welcome the participants from January 02, 2021 onwards with 12 stages, 4,767 km of special stages and a total distance of 7,640 km - one day more than this year. Another new feature is that the focus will be less on high speeds and more on the safety, riding technique and navigation skills of the participants. Among the 321 vehicles that are expected to start, another surprise is waiting for us: it seems as if Rieju is going to send three riders to the starting line in 2021.

Extreme enduro: KTM and Walker will be going separate ways from now on

After eight successful years, KTM and Jonny Walker are ending their cooperation as a result of an internal restructuring - it is not yet known how things will continue on both sides in the coming year. Fabio Farioli, the KTM Factory Team Manager, commented on the decision as follows: "First of all we would like to say goodbye to Jonny with a big thank you after he was able to celebrate so many successes together with the KTM Factory team. We've had some good times over the years and equally outstanding successes. He has been a very important part of our team and was partly responsible for our continued success. Despite this fact, we are unfortunately no longer able to keep Jonny on the team. We therefore wish him all the best for the future". We remain curious if and if so, in which colors we will see Walker riding in 2021!

Mongolia: New tours through sandy dunes

Those of you who have been browsing through our website last week may have already noticed that once again, we are looking forward to welcoming you on new adventures in 2021 - this time for the first time to the unique Mongolia! Expansive landscapes, traditional nomads, sandy dunes and an all-round authentic enduro experience await you - what are you waiting for? Secure your spot for the coming summer now & enjoy the anticipation.

Superenduro: Last minute cancellation of the SuperEnduro Riesa

The next edition of the traditional SuperEnduro Riesa race should have taken place on January 9, 2021 - as recently announced, however, the race now had to be cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. Until the very end, the organizers had hoped that they would be able to hold the event, given that it is a professional sports event, and finance it through media coverage, however by now, these plans could not be realized, leading to the short notice cancellation of the event. Nevertheless, the organizers are not losing their hope so quickly: the next date has already been set, which means that the next edition of the exciting race will probably take place on January 8, 2022. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it will work out as planned!

Training: Dates for the new season are online

Things are not only moving in the travel sector, but we are also happy to present new dates for the upcoming season to you within the German borders! As usual, we will again offer our trainings in Hof in the Westerwald as well as in Warching in Bavaria, and in each case you can choose between our enduro beginners, enduro advanced, ladies only enduro and travel enduro trainings. It pays to be fast however – else, before you know, everything might again be fully booked before you were able to secure your spot.

HESG: Restart of the Extreme Enduro Series in 2021

After many events had to be cancelled or postponed before, the organizers now made a hard decision, which was supported by the majority of the community however: the transition season of 2020/2021 has now been finished prematurely so that hopefully the first race of the 2021 season can be held in Reisersberg as early as April 17, 2021. A total of six races will then hopefully be waiting for the riders - we remain curious to see if the realization of all races will work out as planned!

We hope that you're enjoying your day by riding your bike and keeping your distance.
