News from the EnduroGP World Championship, the GCC and the Red Bull Romaniacs, Blazusiak's jersey change and more

This week, we have again summarized the latest information and developments from the enduro scene for you. We hope you enjoy reading it, let's go!

Taddy Blazusiak: From orange to red

As was announced a while ago, Taddy Blazusiak will not be riding on his KTM for the coming season, but on a GASGAS. However, for a long time, it was not clear on which motorcycles he would ride in the next races - now we can take a first look at his new EC 300 as well as his EC 350F, on which he will compete with his rivals in the WESS Enduro World Championship as well as in the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship.

"Everyone that knows me knows how competitive I am, racing in new colors definitely makes me more determined to challenge for more race wins", Blazusiak said.

Robert Jonas, VP of Motorsports Offroad, is also confident: "For a brand like GASGAS there is no better rider than Taddy Blazusiak to lead it back into enduro competition". We are curious to see if he can prove himself to his fellow riders in red!

EnduroGP-WM: Game over for the race „Rund um Zschopau“

After we have already received a large number of event cancellations in the past weeks and months, it is now clear that even the enduro classic "Rund um Zschopau", originally the final race of this year's EnduroGP World Championship, has fallen victim to corona-related restrictions and cannot be carried out as planned. According to statements of the organizer, the risk is too great, the time window too small and the uncertainties too concise to be able to conduct an event of this size reasonably. Now it's time to cross your fingers that at least the remaining three rounds of the race series can take place as planned - whether or not the event can take place in Zschopau again next year is still open, but the first preparations are underway already.

WESS: New date for the Red Bull Romaniacs 2020

While some have to cancel their events, others have managed to find a new date. Following the cancellation of the Red Bull Romaniacs event in July, a new date has now been set for the legendary Hard Enduro race, which is now scheduled to take place in Sibiu from 27th - 31st October 2020. However, as previously announced, this does not mean that the event can be held as usual - the restrictions that there will be neither an Old Town prologue nor spectators on site still apply, among other conditions. However, there is one ray of hope: thanks to the postponement of the rally to October, according to the organizer Martin Freinademetz, the participants will enjoy a unique experience of nature in the Carpathian Mountains, which are said to be the most beautiful in autumn - at the same time, this also represents a return to the roots of the race, which in 2004, the first year in which the event was held, took place in October as well.

Travel adventure: Explore the trails of the Red Bull Romaniacs on your own

If you can't wait until October to see some of the exciting trails of the Red Bull Romaniacs again, we have the solution for you: quickly secure yourself one of the coveted spots on one of our tours and explore the most beautiful areas of the Carpathian Mountains with our English-speaking guide! And the best of it all: since the borders are already open again for some countries, you won't even have to wait long before you can feel Romanian soil under your wheels - more enduro fun is currently hardly possible. GCC: The season of 2020 has officially been cancelled

Even the Maxxis Cross Country Championship could not remain unaffected by the corona-related restrictions: following the announcement that major events will remain prohibited until 31st October 2020, the organiser finally pulled the rip cord for this year and decided that none of the planned GCC events will take place this season. Nevertheless, the organizers do not want to bury their heads in the sand, but are already in the middle of planning the events for next year - by doing so, they are trying to set a positive sign during these difficult times. Currently, the organizers expect to announce the new dates for the 2021 season in September.

Even though the news of the last weeks still had a predominantly negative connotation due to corona, we still hope that our article included some interesting information for you. If you want to stay up to date at all times, subscribe to our newsletter by entering your e-mail address in the bottom right-hand corner of this page and clicking on "Sign up" so that we can send you the most interesting information every two weeks.

World Enduro Super Series (WESS) 2019: Round 3 - Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble 2019

The World Enduro Super Series 2019 has just begun and we're already facing round three this weekend with the Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble taking place from 01. - 02. June 2019 in Austria. In one of the most famous offroad motorcycle races of the world, the 1,800 hard enduro riders will face many gravely challenges in an attempt to qualify for the final run across the iron giant on Sunday. We are curious to see which rider will reach the finish line first and claim the victory - last year, it was Graham Jarvis (Husqvarna), followed by Jonny Walker (KTM) and Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM). If you cannot be there yourself, as always, you can follow the event through the Red Bull Livestream. Red Bull 111 Megawatt 2018

After we recently had the opportunity to follow the exciting race of this year's Red Bull Romaniacs, the second half of the World Enduro Super Series finally starts. The start of the second half time is done by the Red Bull 111 Megawatt in Poland, that has been founded by Taddy Blazusiak, who just made his enduro-comeback to compete in this year's WESS, and is the last hard enduro event of the series. To win here, the 1000 riders must show that they are skilled in technical as well as in high-speed passages, are physically fit and are ready for some exciting head-to-head races - most importantly Jonny Walker (KTM), the current WESS leader, followed by his competitors Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM) and Billy Bolt (Husqvarna).

The race

On Saturday, the 08.09.2018, the race starts with two runs each in Motocross and Endurocross. In this race, we will see which riders belong to the fastest 500 and thus can proceed to the main event on Sunday. The main event includes three rounds on the challenging track that will welcome the riders with nearly vertical walls, giant rocks, quick enduro trails and many more obstacles.

The riders

The most difficult challenge for the riders of this year will be to beat Jonny Walker. This is not only due to his leading position in the World Enduro Super Series, but also due to the fact that he's won the Red Bull 111 Megawatt three years in a row already.

In the second position, however with 3 podium positions in 4 races and a generally outstanding performance already, we find Manuel Lettenbichler. Currently, 185 points separate him from his competitor Jonny Walker, however winning the race this weekend could disrupt this order and award him with the lead in the WESS.

The third in line, Billy Bolt, is also longing for a position in the top three of course - after all, he was able to show of his skills in the first race of the WESS already with his victory.

Further favorites for this year's edition of the Red Bull 111 Megawatt are Wade Young, who is on the fourth place of the World Enduro Super Series at the moment, as well as Mario Roman, who was able to secure two second places at the Red Bull 111 Megawatt before. The injury he got at the Red Bull Romaniacs is healed by now and thus, he's hoping for a good run - maybe it's true that "all good things go by 3"?

You can find an official event-preview by Red Bull including some statements by the event-founder Taddy Blazusiak in the following video, furthermore you can directly head to the offiicial Red Bull Website to set a reminder that will notify you when the livestream of the main event starts on Sunday. We wish all riders a succesful and fun race and are looking forward to an exciting race! Of course, we will also publish the official results of both rounds on here.
