If you really want to discover Romania on a motorcycle, there is no way around the legendary pass roads: the spectacular Transfăgărășan and the highest asphalted pass road in Romania, the Transalpina. On our 7-day tour, you will cover around 1,500 kilometers and experience the country up close - with enough time to take in the pristine, wild beauty of the landscapes.
An unforgettable experience awaits you on every stage: from the thrill of an encounter with a full-grown bear to hidden routes that only real insiders know about.
In addition to the famous pass roads, this tour also takes you to the geographical center of Romania, to Sibiu (Hermanstadt), and to the historic Sighișoara (Schäßburg) - one of the most beautiful historic cities in the country.
And the best part? With us, you will experience 7 full days of pure adventure, without additional arrival and departure days. From start to finish, you'll be immersed in Romania's breathtaking nature, fascinating history and warm hospitality.
Tour itinerary:
Day 1: A breathtaking start to the adventure (approx. 340 km)
At 09:00, we leave everyday life behind us and immerse ourselves in the fascinating world of the Apuseni Mountains. From the very first bend, this stage takes us along winding roads and high plateaus with spectacular panoramic views - a foretaste of the adventures that await us in the coming days.
Day 2: Hidden beauties and historical highlights (approx. 290 km)
Today the route takes us to Alba Iulia, the historic capital of the Alba district in Transylvania. On the way, we will take you to one of our favorite secret gorges - a hidden natural paradise that few travelers know about. Here you can enjoy the wild beauty of Romania and experience impressive views. In the evening, relax in a stylish upscale hotel and let the impressions of the day sink in.
Day 3: On the Transalpina to Sibiu - the heart of Romania (approx. 225 km)
Day three promises special highlights: Via the first section of the legendary Transalpina, we make our way to the charming city of Sibiu (Hermannstadt), located in the geographical center of Romania. Arriving in the Southern Carpathians, Sibiu invites you to explore - from the historic market square with its cafés and restaurants to the small boutiques and stores that invite you to browse and store. A perfect place to experience the culture of Transylvania up close.
Day 4: Medieval treasures and winding roads (approx. 210 km)
Today the route takes us on charming side roads through the heart of Transylvania. We pass the picturesque town of Biertan with its impressive fortified church and continue to Sighișoara (Sighisoara), one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Romania. From there, we head to Făgăraș in Brașov County, where we prepare for the next day - because tomorrow the legendary Transfăgărășan is waiting to be discovered by us.
Day 5: On the legendary Transfăgărășan (approx. 250 km)
Another highlight awaits us today: the legendary Transfăgărășan! At 148 kilometers, it is the second highest pass road in Romania and offers impressive views and challenging bends. We might even see bears at the side of the road - wild, powerful inhabitants of the Carpathians. Full concentration is required here: stay behind the tour guide and follow his instructions! A unique adventure that you won't soon forget. Since September 2024, feeding the bears on the Transfăgărășan has been prohibited and punishable by severe penalties - who knows how much longer we will be able to experience these majestic animals up close?
Day 6: Off to the Transalpina - the queen of pass roads (approx. 220 km)
We take the Transalpina, the highest pass road in Romania, which winds its way through the majestic Transylvanian Alps at an altitude of over 2,100 meters. This magnificent panoramic road connects the regions of Gorj in Lesser Wallachia with Alba in Transylvania and offers breathtaking views of the untouched mountain world. It can stay cool up here even in summer, so dress warmly and let yourself be enchanted by this unique riding experience. Towards evening we reach the Târgu Jiu region and end the day relaxing in comfortable accommodation.
Day 7: The crowning finale (approx. 260 km)
The adventure is far from over! The last 260 kilometers of our journey will make your biker heart beat faster once again. On winding roads, we reach our starting point in Avram Iancu, Vârfurile, in the late afternoon. Our unforgettable tour through the natural beauty of Romania ends here - with a wealth of new impressions and memories that you won't soon forget.
