8 days Kenya

Duration: 8 Days
From: Nairobi
To: Nairobi
Languages: English (others upon request)
An unforgettable tour from Soysamtu Conservancy to the Masai Mara Reserve, Lake Natron and back to Nairobi. Enjoy the wildlife and culture of Kenia!

8 Days - Rift Valley & Southern Kenya

The route will first lead you to the Soysambu Conservancy, from there to the Maasai Mara and then more south to the Tanzanian border and Shampole. You will see a lot of different terrain: sand, clay and rock sections will appear on our ride. Also, the daily temperatures will vary greatly as Shompole is a much hotter area than Soyasambu or the Maasai Mara. You will sleep in a mix of twin rooms, single rooms and camping sites, optionally you can also stay in lodges. Please contact us if you prefer that.

Day 1 - Arrival in Nairobi:
You will be picked up from the airport and driven to the Tamarind Tree Hotel (or comparable), where you will spend the first night.

Day 2 - Conservancy:
Early in the morning you will be picked up in Nairobi and after a three hour drive, we will arrive at Punda Milias Camp where you will meet your escort team. After a briefing on the motorcycles and safety during the ride, we are off! The Conservancy is home to a variety of plains game, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, buffalos and other animals. The ride up and around the conservancy is incredibly beautiful and watching the animals from the seat of your motorcycle is a once in a lifetime experience. We will spend the night at Punda Milias Camp.

Day 3 - Exploring the area:
Today, we spend the whole day exploring the Soysambu Conservancy. You have the choice between a picnic lunch on the way or lunch at the camp. There are countless trails you can ride here, with varying degrees of difficulty from intermediate to very technical enduro riding. Fun is guaranteed for everyone! We will again spend the night at Punda Milias Camp.

Day 4 - Maasai Mara:
After breakfast we leave the Soysambu Conservancy and ride to the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. We ride south out of the Great Rift Valley towards the Tanzanian border. The terrain changes and is a mixture of red earth and black cotton earth. Around noon we will stop for a picnic lunch, then we will continue to the Maasai Mara. We will spend the night at Oltome Mara Camp or at a campsite on the edge of the Maasai Mara.

Day 5 - Wildlife:
Today, we've got a full day game drive planned to see the wildlife of the Maasai Mara and around noon, we will enjoy a picnic in the middle of the wilderness. Unfortunately, this ride is not possible with the enduros, which is why we will change to four wheeled offroad vehicles. With a little luck you will see the Big Five - elephants and big cats. Optionally, you can visit a Maasai Manyatta. We will stay overnight at the same place.

Day 6 - Heading South:
Again, our day starts with a filling breakfast before we're leaving the Maasai Mara and ride down through the Loita Forest and the Nguruman escarpment. The road is very rocky and leads us to the river and Shompole. The temperatures here are much higher than the temperatures we encountered the last days, it is hot here. We spend the night at the Entasopia Falls Guest house or at a campsite.

Day 7 - You thought it was hot already:
After breakfast, the difference in temperature to the Maasai Mara becomes more obvious while we spend the whole day in Shompole. In the morning you can either go for a ride with the enduros or opt for another game drive. We will visit Lake Natron. In the afternoon, you can relax or change to one HP and go horseback riding. We will spend the night at the same place again.

Day 8 - Departure:
Today we will ride from Shompole to Karen, a suburb of Nairobi. The ride takes us through the valley floor, past Lake Magadi and up to the Ngong hills. Once in Karen, we will leave the motorcycles there and head out for a late lunch. You will have a day room to shower before departure, then we will drive you to the airport.
